THE DOCTER IS IN (Soap Opera Weekly 9/20/05)
Kimberly McCullough (Robin) is returning to GH in a new "role." "I've
been told I'm going to come back as a doctor, who's going to help Jason in
some capacity," revelas McCullough, who first airs Oct. 12. "I'm looking
forward to that, because a lot of the roles I've been playing lately have
been pretty young. It's going to be cool to play a professional, if you will.
And I'm excited about working with Steve Burton (Jason) and Maurice Benard
(Sonny) again."
Never mind the fact that Robin is near and dear to her heart. "The character
is basically me," says McCullough. "I grew up playing her, so it's not really
a stretch. I've played a lot of characters -- everything from a car thief
to a nerd. Now I'm going back to Robin. It fits. There's this whole history
that I'm completely aware of. I don't have to try to conjure up anything.
It exists."
Robin could be the spoiler in the Jason/Sam romance, but McCullough isn't
about to speculate on viewer reactions. "I don't know what the fans are going
to think," she admits. "I know they're excited to have Robin back, which
is flattering. But I don't know how excited they are to have Robin and Jason
back together."
